IT’S A FACT! THE
results of our recent readership survey confirm that HC&G readers have a passion for decoration and design.

We’ve learned that 71 percent of our readers own two or more homes and the average value of their additional residence is $2.2 million. With an average household income of $838,000, a whopping 88 percent are planning a remodeling or redecorating project in the next 12 months. And 56 percent of them plan on working with a builder or contractor; 50 percent, with a landscape designer.

A recent home builder told me that for months prior to her project, she had tear-sheeted pages from HC&G to formulate ideas for her new abode. She shared them with her prospective builder, architect and interior designer, only to find that they had done the same and that the tear sheets were remarkably similar! Great minds think alike, and it’s that kind of shared taste that creates beautiful homes.

The survey also shows that during the next 12 months, the majority of HC&G readers will buy art and antiques, furniture, lamps and floor coverings, and half will remodel their kitchens.
