RICHARD J. GHERARDI is the principal owner and president of Sand Dollar Development Corporation. Working in both the private and public sector, he has been involved in residential and commercial building projects, concrete construction and land development. Gherardi is involved with numerous high-end, custom-designed homes that, when completed, generally list for over six million dollars. One of his industrial projects is pre-leased, and he is presently at work on the development of the former Warner LeRoy property, a 50-acre estate in Amagansett. As an authority on all aspects of home building, his comments and projects have appeared in The New York Times, Newsday and Builder magazine. He was named Builder of the Year in 2000 by Long Island Builders Institute and has been listed in America's Registry of Outstanding Professionals since 2003. He earned a bachelor's degree in business and marketing from St. John's University in Queens and resides in East Hampton with his wife, Debra, and one son.
