Clean Design

This translates to a tropically inspired crocodile wallpaper, natural stone surfaces and a rustic, wall-mounted sink. "What is the future of me?" indeed!

Upstairs and out of the jungle, Urban Archaeology designed two bathrooms. The first, adjacent to Steven Walsh's guest room, features a breathtaking micro-mosaic floor created from 3/8-inch square tiles and walls adorned with a silvery straw wallcovering by Crezana Designs. The luxe master bath, inspired by the browns, whites and grays characteristic of pebbles on the shore, unites natural hues with the industrial chic typical of the century-old architectural fragments Urban Archaeology finds, salvages and reproduces. The main room boasts an oval cast iron pedestal tub (sitting on a square-upon-square mosaic tile floor of Carrera, crema marfil and statuary marble) as well as twin Urban Archaeology washstands with elegantly styled polished nickel legs supporting Carrera marble tops—a contemporary take on 1930s glitz. The adjacent water closet has a toilet and bidet surrounded by wainscoting and limestone tile. As a finishing touch, playful photographs of women in bathtubs and riding bikes evoke the pleasure of life in the Hamptons. These are all truly bathrooms to rejuvenate body and soul.
