"It's important that media rooms are as comfortable as possible," says Corzine. "People are going to spend a great deal of time there."
On either side of the TV, Corzine positioned Art Deco-inspired, Venetian silver sconces, new additions to her collection. They effectively add an extra touch of glamour while floor lamps behind the sofa provide further illumination. A custom designed, parchment-colored Lucite game table can also be used for dining, as can the console, which stands behind the sofa. The marble-topped bar, another custom design, is finished in a lacquer to color match the walls.
Despite the fact that she designed nearly everything else in the room, Corzine is adamant that the most important items she sourced are Harry Benson's four photographs of the Black and White Ball that Truman Capote threw for Katharine Graham. About 48 inches wide, they are housed in large Venetian silver frames that complement the sconces. "The space really is beautiful," she says. "It's very Hamptons, and those photographs, well, they just make the room."
