2007 HC&G IDEA HOUSE TOUR
Almost all of the hardware throughout the Idea House was created by Merit, a Pennsylvania-based producer of hand-crafted knobs, levers, locks, hinges, drawer pulls and other hardware in a variety of styles, from classic to contemporary. Crafted from brass, each piece is available in 26 standard and unlimited custom finishes, including copper, pewter, gold and bronze. Each piece comes in standard sizes but can also be customized to suit the homeowner's needs.
Much of the flooring in the house was supplied by California-based Exquisite Surfaces, which has East Coast showrooms in Manhattan and Greenwich, Conn. Founded as a premiere source for antique and newly quarried French limestone and antique terra cotta, the company's product line now includes antique and aged French oak, antique and reproduction limestone fireplaces, Provencal fountains, architectural and garden elements, antique Jerusalem stone, salvaged roof tiles, decorative ceramic tiles from France, Spain, Italy and North Africa and, most recently, the new Oscar Ono Collection of contemporary, thermo-treated European oak floors.
