EDITOR'S LETTER
Each issue, our "Project" page will track the progress and give the highlights of the daunting task of making a house take shape—everything from choosing the property and building the structure to designing the interior. In this case, we asked a group of talented designers to evoke the shingled summer houses of the 19th and early 20th centuries while incorporating their own signature style. The Idea House will be unveiled on August 4, and it will be open for public viewing until September 4.
When decorating, as we all know, there are often many turns before we find what suits us best, what suits the space best and what suits this particular time in our life best. I have often had difficulty in making decorating decisions as there are so many styles I love. I always felt it was best to envision how I would live in a space to see if the decisions felt right. Wherever and however you get your inspiration, we hope to be a part of it over the coming months as we share with you the diversity of the East End.
