HC&G BEST OF SEASON

Curtain Up!

41 NEW WAYS TO EAT, DRINK, SHOP AND LIVE IN THE EAST END

SWEET ESCAPE | All last summer Shelter Island residents bragged about the French-style macaroons from Mark It With G, a husband-and-wife team that had been operating from a tiny window. (The lavender-scented, salted caramel ones are a town favorite.) Over the winter, proprietors Jesse and Reed Boone expanded into a 20-seat restaurant (27 N. Ferry Rd., 631-749-5288, markitwithg.com) and began serving brunch. Now, they’re offering concise, weekend-only lunch and dinner menus laden with Shelter Island-grown produce. Leave room for dessert.

SOUTH COMES EAST | For its 80th birthday the Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina (32 Star Island Rd.; 631-668-3100, montaukyachtclub.com ) has treated itself to a six million dollar face-lift and the company of a younger man—26-year-old chef Michael Domitrovich, who is spearheading the Club’s revamped dining program. The handful of restaurants and lounges, including the flagship Gulf Coast Kitchen, is steeped in southern flavors, a skill Domitrovich honed while working at his family’s restaurants.

FEEL THE BURN | There’s plenty of spots to pack on the pounds, here’s a few to help you burn it off. SoulCycle renovated its Bridgehampton studio (264 Butter Ln., 631-537-3630, soul-cycle.com ), added 20 bikes for a total of 60 and installed a juice bar in its dreamy wrap-around deck (ABOVE). Yogi Jessica Bellofatto recently split with Yoga Shanti, the Sag Harbor studio she helped found, to open KamaDeva Yoga in East Hampton (66 Newtown Ln., Suite 7, 2nd fl., rear, 631-604-1382, kamadevayoga.com ), which offers yoga for toddlers and Pilates. Hamptons Gym (395 County Rd. 39A, 866-96-BULLDOG, hamptonsgymcorp.com) opened its third location in Southampton at the Omni building.

The Watermill Center (watermillcenter.org)
is beautifying its verdant campus in the form of
Copper Beech Trees, which benefactors can buy
for $200 each.

OLD HAT | To benefit the East Hampton Historical Society and the restoration of the barns and landscape at the c. 1680 Mulford Farm, Ralph Lauren is selling specially designed caps ($25), waffle-weave shirts ($55) and more at its village stores (31-33 and 57 Main St., ralphlauren.com) and in an outpost at the Farm itself.

CODE ORANGE | A 20,000-square-foot Hermés (63 Main St., 631-324-1177, hermes.com) is now open through September 20, selling handsome fashion and accessories for beach, pool and garden, such as this handy roll of gardening tools.
