EDITOR'S LETTER
Another welcoming home belongs to a husband and wife who have an extremely busy life in Manhattan. They fell in love with the area when visiting their longtime friend, designer Kerry Delrose, and decided they wanted a second home with a less-formal feel than their city place. Delrose stumbled on a late-19th-century Victorian in Sag Harbor that he thought would be perfect for them. Although the previous owner had "meticulously renovated it," Delrose and this couple, who truly have an eye for design, made sure their second home can be enjoyed in every season.
Since this is the last issue of HC&G for 2006, we decided to put together a brief listing of services that can help you over the fall and winter months. We are calling it our "HC&G Black Book," and it will grow from year to year as we hear from you what services you want to know about. This year we are including landscaping services to help get your garden ready for winter and again next year for the spring and summer. We've also listed storage facilities for storing overflow from a house or items you want put away if you are renting your house or moving. Along those lines, we have also included a home organizer who can help you sort through what to keep and what to get rid of, or help you pack or unpack before or after a move. For those items you want to get rid of, we list organizations and shops to which you can donate clothes and furniture. Remember, this is just a beginning. We want your input for next time.
Take good care over these next few months. Although we will be in the Hamptons from time to time, we will mostly be in the Palm Beach area working on Palm Beach Cottages & Gardens from November through April. Do keep in touch, however. I am only an e-mail away.
